OK so I'm raising money for precisons but don't know exactly which ones I want. I am looking to mostly freeride on them. And then also Dh. Is there anyone who is totally against freeriding on them? Just cause of the money. And someone had made a comment on a motion board shop YouTube video saying That the new all carbon omens deck carbon fiber scratches and wears down super easy. Is thus true ?

i cant answer your question about the decks, but i have a friend who had surf rods on a f22 raptor, and he had it set up for freeride. bear is making semi percisions with a percision baseplate, and a cast hanger. i would look into the 55 degree baseplate percision grizzlys. i have never rode on them, but i want to really badly.

Hell Yeah, freeride what ever you like! Some types will be grippier than others but who cares? It's freeriding... I like the feel of my persishuns even when I'm at speed. Cheers! _felix

i have next to no knowledge on precisions, but from what I know, surf-rodz are your best bet. They are meant to freeride on and you can also go and bomb. From what i have heard, people love em. About the omen, those boards are super strong and overall kick ass so you shouldnt be worried abooot them wearing down.

Colinquinlin, The user that made the comment about the Omen has absolutely no idea what he is talking about. If you didn't notice, he also suggested that a DH deck should have flex (which is utter bullshit). The Omen Matrix is incredibly durable and will actually scratch far far less than other boards on the market.

sounds like a jackass to me. I only rode one around the parking lot, but I am 240 pounds and this thing was super stiff and fucking light! the concave was weird at first....kinda like bathtub concave. super awesome build also I looked at the snapped one and the fact that it flexed 8" before cracking is crazy

Just just shiggles, here is the post from the idiot that claims that carbon wears faster:well the bad news is that deck is too much money, theres limited flex, the carbon fibre wears down fastewr than wooden decks, and that piece of junk will never beat bustin boards!
Does he sound like he knows anything about longboarding?
"carbon fibre wears down faster than wooden decks" is probably my favorite part, and then comparing it to bustin? "limited flex"? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

I had my precisions (Zealous) on the Omen Matrix for the couple days I was riding one for the video, I wouldn't have had it any other way.

I would just get the hybrid bears as trucks if you want something a little more "precise" than just any run to the mill cast truck. Most precision trucks are designed with serious speed in mind. Plus chances are you might be beating up your freeride setup more than your DH setup, so you just wouldnt want to take the chance in really damaging a nice pair of $200+ trucks. But hey if you have some extra money laying around to throw down on some precisions, go for it. The omen is sick. the riding I've done on one is very minimal, but it's a sick board. The omen seems to me like a better investment than precision trucks. Kg

I kinda feel that the bear hybrid trucks should have a precision hanger instead of a haseplate

Surf-rods are also heavier than cast trucks. Light trucks are sweet for freeriding. kgg

Surf-Rodz are great because you can ride them super loose or super tight, they're not the best trucks out there in either category but they are inexpensive for precisions and are great! I am not a fan of bear trucks period so I won't comment on those. A good free-ride and down hill truck also is the zealous trucks. The Nub on the end i a ball on a stick which makes it a little more predictable. but they are semi hard to come by. And as for the Omen, I have not ridden any of the models with the graphic but I have ridden the pre-production model. (Red top, no bottom graphic) It was super light and perfect for freeriding and when I took it to around 35mph it was super stable, I imagine it would be the same at higher speeds to. It is also extremely light and for 350 dollars? Thats an amazing deal for a carbon board. It is not a carbon version of a wood board, it is a masterpiece of board engineering., and its own shape, and style.

well carbon fiber does chip which would be a downside and for precisions what i've found to be the cheapest route would be something along the lines of omen hangers ($199) with whatever degree baseplate precision grizzly you want ($90) not too sure if that'd work but if it would i think that'd be pretty legit or just go with surfrods, reason being they're semi cheap and have adjustable hanger widths and a variety of baseplates and color ways also check out some munkaes or just do what i did, save $250-$400 and get some calibers

I have two Omens, get a nose plate and your fine. I hack curbs and ride in the rain. The carbon is solid ans stiff. Shape is great for hand grabs and feet lock in. Love my boards....

im not a fan of surf rodz, thats just my opinion, ive only ridden the 200's, not terrible but i would rather spend another 100$ for a different pair of precisions
